How do I use the MobileSync software?
Solution

Here are step-by-step instructions to help you get started:

1. Music Locker

You must have a MP3tunes Music Locker account to transfer music to your mobile device. If you don't yet have a free Music Locker account, sign up here: mp3tunes.com/signup

2. Install and Launch the Phone Software

a.) On your mobile phone: open a browser and go to: mp3tunes.com/mob (for "mobile"), and click OK through the steps to complete the installation of the phone software. (Note: you may see screens that say the program is "unsigned" or "untrusted." It is safe to click "Yes" or "OK" on these messages to finish the install.)

b.) Find the "MobileSync" program on your phone and launch it. Enter your MP3tunes account information (email address and password) and select "Login". (The phone may ask if you want to allow the application to access the network. Click "Yes".)

c.) Keep MobileSync running and logged in to your Music Locker, so your phone can receive songs sent with Load2Mobile. To add new devices all you have to do is install the MobileSync software and log into your MP3tunes account. After you log in, they will appear in your account automatically.

3. Sending songs to your phone.

a.) From your Music Locker: After logging into your Locker with your web browser, with either Locker DJ (mp3tunes.com/player) or the PiMP (mp3tunes.com/pmp), right-clicking (Mac: cntl-click) on a song opens the selection menu. Find and select "Load to.." in the menu to show your available devices. Select the phone to which you wish to send the song and Load2Mobile will begin the process. (Note: You will need to have logged into MobileSync at least one time on your phone for it to appear in your menu of options.)

b.) Using the Load2Mobile plugin: With the Load2Mobile plugin installed in your Firefox or Internet Explorer web browser, a small button (example: Note graphic) appears next to any compatible free song file you find on a web page. Clicking the button opens a pop-up window allowing you to select your mobile device and send the song to it (as well as to your Music Locker).

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:
  Which phones does
MobileSync work with?

A:  MobileSync should work for most modern mobile phones which permit the installation of software applications. Compatibility may depend on your carrier as well as the manufacturer or model of your phone.

Q: Can I use this mobile device with the Apple iPhone?

A: Not at the present time, because Apple has locked the device so that other programs cannot add any songs to the iTunes system. Locker owners can still move music to their iPhone by syncing down from their Locker to their computer and then to their iPhone as usual with iTunes.

Q: I just have basic voice service on my mobile phone. Can I install and use this application?

A: MP3tunes MobileSync requires an active data connection to download music tracks. Please contact your service provider to find out more about your data plan before downloading and using this app. We recommend the use of an unlimited data plan. Carrier charges may apply.

Q: Does using this application cost money?

A: The MP3tunes MobileSync software is free to download and use. However, your service provider may charge you for data usage, which includes download the software and playing your music. We recommend the use of an unlimited data plan. Please contact your mobile service provider for more info.

Q: Should I select AAC+ or MP3?

A: When you use AAC+, your song file is reduced to a very small size, while still providing high-quality sound for listening. As a result, this format is ideal for your phone since you can keep more songs. You may still select the MP3 format if your phone does not support AAC+ playback.

Q: How do I provide feedback?

A: Of course we want to know how the Load2Mobile service is working for you. Contact us with your questions, your experience with your phone, etc.
